Halloween Tortilla Cutouts

Halloween and Fall-Themed Tortilla Cutouts

Rather than make dozens and dozens of high calorie cookies this Halloween, here’s another idea. Cut flour tortillas into spooky shapes, add a little seasoning and then bake. You’ll still have a sweet Halloween-themed treat for dessert or a snack but without all the calories and sugar. Consider this: one 6-inch tortilla (which makes several cutouts) has just 100 calories, but a frosted cookie cutout could have 150-400 calories per cookie!

These cutouts are also fun to serve at a party with dips or spreads. I seasoned mine with cinnamon-sugar which makes them delicious with ice cream or applesauce. But you can also make these savory by sprinkling them with chili powder and serving with salsa, Ranch dip, chili or soup. Or try them with Italian seasoning and serve with pasta or marinara sauce. Have fun and enjoy!

Halloween Tortilla Cutouts
6-inch flour tortillas (as many as you want)
Assorted Halloween or fall-themed cookie cutters
Nonstick cooking spray
Cinnamon-sugar
Applesauce or vanilla ice cream

Place tortillas on a cutting board. Spray tops with cooking spray. Sprinkle generously with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Line baking sheet with foil and spray with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Place cutouts on the prepared baking sheet, cinnamon-sugar side up. Bake in preheated 325 degree F oven for 15 minutes or until cutouts are crisp and lightly browned. Serve with applesauce or vanilla ice cream.
